YBS Commercial Mortgages has announced that Angela Norman is stepping up into the role of interim managing director.
She moves from her existing role as head of lending for YBS Commercial, where she has managed the lending teams, focussing on enhancing the support provided for portfolio landlords and owner-occupier businesses, and led the commercial lender’s ambitious growth plans.
She replaces Tom Simpson, who steps up into the role of interim chief commercial officer for Yorkshire Building Society. His remit will cover all brands including Yorkshire Building Society, Accord and YBS Commercial Mortgages.
Angela joined the business in June from Recognise Bank and has a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the commercial finance landscape, having worked in the industry for over 25 years. She has hands-on experience leading high-performing front line teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and developing first-class propositions, and has the breadth of experience needed to drive the expansion of the business.

It’s an exciting point in our growth journey, and I’ve been blown away with the team’s determination and commitment to deliver for our brokers and customers.

Angela will be replaced as interim head of lending by Mike Davies, who is currently head of business development for YBS Commercial. Mike has played a crucial role in the lender’s growth over the past five years and has a wealth of experience within commercial finance. The appointment into the interim head of lending role will widen Mike’s remit, overseeing the business development and relationship teams.
