Stonebridge has appointed Joanna Purdy as its new National Compliance Manager continuing the firm’s raft of senior appointments.

In her role, Purdy will report to Claire Chambers, Head of Compliance Operations, and will oversee field supervision and support enhancements to compliance processes across the network. Her remit is ensuring robust support for Appointed Representative (AR) firms and reinforcing Stonebridge’s ongoing commitment to regulatory excellence as well as adding considerable experience to the team.

Purdy’s career in financial services spans two decades, including over 10 years in management, operating most recently as Senior Area Supervision Manager at PRIMIS Network, where she was also Deputy Chair of its Inclusion & Diversity Forum.

Purdy was a mortgage adviser before leading compliance and supervision in both mortgage networks and Directly Authorised (DA) firms. She has held key roles at Masthaven Bank, Dynamo, and Think Mortgages. She holds CeMAP and CeRER qualifications.

Aptitude in front-end sales, compliance and supervision, and post-completion support define Purdy’s professional background, which has afforded her market-leading insight into the end-to-end customer journey.

Commenting on the latest appointment Rob Clifford, Chief Executive at Stonebridge, said: “Joanna’s deep understanding of the end-to-end customer journey is the type of thing that sets her apart. She brings with her invaluable perspective and competence in addition to being a compliance professional.

“This key appointment underlines our focus on embedding best-in-class compliance practices at the heart of our operations, directly benefiting member firms and consumers alike, and we’re thrilled to welcome someone of Joanna’s calibre to our ever-growing team, at this exciting time for the network.”

Commenting on her move to Stonebridge, Purdy said: “I was ready for a new challenge and Stonebridge offers me exactly that. The network’s strong industry reputation and commitment to both member firms and employees really appealed to me, and I’m excited now to help drive Stonebridge forward as part of a supportive and ambitious team.”
