Mortgage Brain has integrated Assurant Intermediary into its CRM Brain module, giving brokers access to household and landlord insurance from Assurant’s range of products along with their multi-insurer panel as part of the mortgage application process.

The integration means that, once a mortgage application has been submitted through CRM Brain, brokers will be prompted to ask their client whether they’d like help arranging home insurance. Client data already captured in CRM Brain is used so brokers don’t need to switch systems or re-key information.

Greater choice for every client

Assurant Intermediary brings breadth to the CRM Brain insurance offering. Alongside standard buildings and contents cover, brokers can access solutions for landlords, including HMOs, portfolio properties, limited companies and holiday lets. They can also find cover for more complex risks such as non-standard construction, listed and high-value properties, and homes with flood or subsidence histories.

Assurant recently enhanced its Elements Home Insurance offering with increased cover limits and improved protection across Buildings and Contents. Elements returns quotes at three defined levels of cover (Gold, Silver and Bronze) from a simplified question set.

A new revenue opportunity for brokers

The integration gives brokers another way to protect their clients and generate an additional revenue stream from within their existing workflow. Because cover is reviewed and renewed each year, it also gives brokers a reason to stay in touch with clients after the mortgage completes.

Neil Wyatt, Chief Commercial Officer, Mortgage Brain, said:

“Every broker’s client bank is different. Some brokers work mainly with first-time buyers, while others see landlords or clients with properties that don’t fit the standard mould. Adding Assurant Intermediary to CRM Brain means brokers have more choice when it comes to protecting their clients’ properties, whatever the circumstances, without leaving the system they already use. It’s the latest step in our ongoing programme of updates to CRM Brain, and we’ll keep working with brokers and partners to bring more of this kind of integration and automation into the module.”

Monita Suter, Head of Sales, Assurant Intermediary Limited, added:

“Home insurance conversations work best when they happen at the right moment and in the right place. By bringing Assurant Intermediary into CRM Brain, brokers can raise home insurance at the point their client has just completed their mortgage application, without stepping outside the system they use every day.

“Every client is different, and this integration gives advisers access to Assurant’s home insurance proposition which offers a broad range of cover for homeowners, landlords and more complex risks. It’s a simpler way for brokers to protect more of their clients’ properties, build longer-lasting relationships and grow their business.”
