The Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA), in partnership with Interpath, has launched the 2026 Bridging Market Survey, inviting UK bridging lenders and brokers to share their views on the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the market.
Now firmly established as an annual initiative, the survey forms part of the BDLA’s ongoing work to improve transparency, identify emerging trends and support the continued growth and credibility of the UK bridging sector. This year’s edition has been expanded to deliver a fuller understanding of how the market is funded, while also introducing new questions on development finance.
The results will help build a clearer picture of the modern bridging and development finance landscape and will be used to support wider promotion of the sector, including promotion by Interpath at the Global ABS conference in Barcelona in June.
Adam Tyler, CEO of the BDLA, said: “Each year, this survey gives us an increasingly valuable snapshot of the bridging and development finance market. Building on the success of previous editions, the 2026 survey is set to be our biggest and most comprehensive yet. By widening the scope to include deeper insight into market funding and development finance, we can help to strengthen understanding of the sector and reinforce confidence, ensuring the market continues to develop on a transparent and credible footing.”
Jack Dutton, Director at Interpath, said: “The Bridging Market Survey has become an important barometer for the sector, providing insight not only into sentiment and lending activity, but also into the structural trends influencing future growth. By working with the BDLA on this year’s survey, we hope to generate a robust picture of how the market is evolving, where confidence is strongest, and how lenders and brokers see the opportunities ahead. That intelligence is vital in helping promote the strength and maturity of the UK bridging industry to a broader audience.”
The survey is open to all UK bridging lenders and brokers until 8th May 2026, and participants are encouraged to contribute their views to help shape the future conversation around the bridging and development finance markets.
