Bridging and development finance provider Pallas Capital has announced the appointment of Phil Mabb as Senior Originator, following its launch into the UK non-bank lending market last month.

Phil brings more than 25 years’ experience across specialist property finance, spanning senior lending roles, independent broking and advisory work.

He began his career in banking before moving into senior property lending roles and later spending over almost 12 years as a highly regarded broker and consultant at the helm of bridgedevelopment.co.uk.

Phil’s experience on both sides of the transaction gives him a detailed understanding of credit decision-making and the practical needs of intermediaries.

His appointment further reinforces Pallas Capital UK’s focus on broker partnership, disciplined underwriting and certainty of execution, as the lender builds long-term relationships in the UK mid-market.

Commenting on his appointment, Phil Mabb said:

“This is a tough market, but that’s exactly why it’s such a good opportunity. Strong lenders establish themselves when conditions are challenging, not when everything is easy. Pallas is well funded, committed and built for long-term growth, which makes now the right time to be here.”

He added:

“Having spent many years on the broking side, I know what frustrates intermediaries: shifting appetite, unclear answers and slow decision-making. What brokers want is clarity and confidence that a lender can actually deliver — and that’s where Pallas stands out.”

In his role, Phil will work closely with Executive Director Ben Keenan, Chief Credit Officer Uliana Kuzmis, and the wider origination and credit teams to support intermediaries and ensure alignment between origination, underwriting and execution.

Reflecting on the lender’s credit approach, Phil said:

“Good lending is about balancing commerciality with discipline. It’s not about doing every deal, but about finding the right way to support well-structured transactions without compromising credit standards.”

Ben Keenan commented:

“Phil brings a rare combination of broker credibility, lending experience and market judgement. As we grow the UK platform, his insight will be invaluable in delivering the consistency and professionalism that define Pallas globally.”

The appointment follows the UK launch of Pallas Capital, supported by committed institutional funding, forward-flow and warehouse facilities, and the resources of the wider Pallas Group—which manages a £1.8bn loan book, has completed over 1,100 transactions since 2016, and is backed by more than £1bn of institutional capital.

The UK platform provides bridging and development finance across residential, mixed-use and commercial property, supporting borrowers throughout the property lifecycle.
