Gatehouse Bank has today announced that it has expanded its community sports fund to support four additional local teams.

The new sports teams to receive the Bank’s support are the Matthiola Rangers U6s based in Cheshire, South London Schools FA based across Southwark, Lambeth and Wandsworth, the Bugbrooke Black U14s based in Northampton and Monk Fryston Football Club based in Leeds. All new teams will be supplied with Gatehouse Bank branded kits.

The Bank has also extended its sponsorship of two of the original teams for a second year. These are the Hurdsfield Phoenix Vipers and Match Point Tennis Coaching. As part of Gatehouse Bank’s commitment to sustainable practices, these teams will be reusing their kits but will benefit from other useful items such as sports equipment and rain jackets.

All teams supported by the community sports fund have been nominated by Gatehouse Bank colleagues and are based in communities local to its colleagues and offices.

Liz Sweeney, Community Manager at Gatehouse Bank, said: “Following a successful first year of giving back to local, grassroots sports teams, I’m immensely proud that we are able to extend our support so that even more young people can benefit.

“As a Shariah-compliant, ethical Bank and in line with our ESG Strategy, we remain committed to supporting local community initiatives wherever possible and ensuring we are having a positive social impact.

“It’s great to see all the young people in their kits and we look forward to cheering them on at upcoming games and tournaments again in the coming year!”
