Butterfield Mortgages in the UK, a leading lender specialising in residential mortgages for prime central London, has joined forces with The Felix Project as a corporate partner to support its efforts in fighting food waste and feeding London.

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. It rescues surplus good quality food, which would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets, suppliers and wholesalers, before redistributing to local community groups, schools and charities. Last year, they provided 38 million nutritious meals to more than 1,200 community organisations, including 170 schools across every London borough.

Alpa Bhakta, CEO of Butterfield Mortgages in the UK, said: “Butterfield cares about the communities it calls home, and The Felix Project is a remarkable charity that plays a vital role in supporting millions of people across London. As part of Butterfield’s overall sustainability framework, this partnership is very much aligned to our commitment to protecting the environment through sustainable consumption and supporting thriving communities through well-being. I am delighted that we can extend our support this year, and I know the entire team is looking forward to getting involved through volunteering and donating.”

Louise Bingham, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Felix Project said: “The Felix Project believes in a vision of a London where no-one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. We are delighted to welcome Butterfield into the Felix Family, joining us to win the fight against food waste and hunger in London”
