Broadstone today announces the appointment of Karen Graves to its Board as Non-Executive Director, effective from 1 November 2025.
Karen is a highly experienced Director in the insurance market through her over 30 years’ work in the Lloyd’s and London market. She started her career in compliance before becoming Chief Operations Officer and then Managing Director at an established Lloyd’s Managing Agency. Karen has also worked for a global reinsurer, supporting its EMEA operations.
Alongside her commercial and regulatory acumen, Karen is an accomplished Non-Executive Director within the insurance sector. She is currently Chair of GreenKite, a professional services firm operating in the UK insurance market, and an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of USAA SA, Allied World Managing Agency and Accelerant UK, where she Chairs the Risk Committees.
Karen’s appointment to the Broadstone Board follows the addition of insurance and actuarial consulting specialist Bill Pedersen as Non-Executive Director in May 2025. It demonstrates Broadstone’s continued strategic focus on growing within the UK insurance vertical across the Life, General and Lloyd’s and London markets.
This objective is supported by the strategic growth investment in Broadstone completed by Lovell Minnick Partners in March 2025, providing the resources to bolster its insurance capabilities, expertise and market footprint.
Tony Gusmao, CEO at Broadstone, commented: “Karen brings invaluable leadership experience in the insurance market at a time when we are looking to accelerate growth in this segment. Building on the appointment of Bill Pedersen and fresh capital backing, Broadstone is well-positioned to continue on an exciting growth trajectory.”
Karen Graves, Non-Executive Director at Broadstone, added: “Broadstone has ambitious strategic objectives and exceptional potential for further expansion across the insurance markets that I have worked in for over three decades. I look forward to adding my specialist knowledge and helping the business develop its differentiated market proposition to deliver continued and long-lasting success.”
