Later life lending platform Air has reinforced its commitment to supporting advisers considering all lending options for older customers by collaborating with leading software creator, Mortgage Brain.

Under the initiative, mainstream advisers starting their research in Mortgage Brain will be able to seamlessly transition to accessing the full capabilities of the Air sourcing system.

Where it is identified, following a holistic view of individual circumstances and objectives, that specialist later life lending products may be appropriate for their client, a recommendation may be progressed or a referral made to a trusted specialist partner.

It’s hoped that the move will create an improved, streamlined journey that consistently delivers good outcomes for consumers, irrespective of the part of the distribution landscape through which they happen to enter the market.

The collaboration helps showcase the firms’ belief in the importance of advisers considering all options in an ever-evolving later life lending product landscape, and align the later life lending sector to the wider mainstream financial advice landscape, thanks to the distribution reach of Mortgage Brain’s existing network of 15,000 advisers and 100+ lenders and Air’s 10,000+ members.

Growing the market through technology

The latest development continues Air’s concerted push around how advisers can more effectively leverage technology, culminating in the upcoming Air Evolve Summit on October 7th. The event focusses on delivering insights around the ways that technology, and AI in particular, can reduce repetitive work, improve the effectiveness of client communications, increase productivity and create more time for the conversations where advisers add the greatest value to their customers and to their businesses.

Speaking of the collaboration, Air’s CEO Will Hale says: “We’re excited to be starting this new collaboration with Mortgage Brain, aligning later life lending to wider mainstream advice through the effective leveraging of technology. Mortgage Brain’s track record in innovation and breadth of distribution relationships make them the perfect partner for us, and we look forward to demonstrating that there is room for specialist sourcing platforms to work alongside mainstream players to assist advisers reach the most suitable recommendation.”

Mortgage Brain’s Chief Commercial Officer, Neil Wyatt, adds: “We’re pleased to enhance our later life lending proposition through this collaboration with Air. This latest partnership with the leading brand in the later life lending space helps to widen our offering while also making advisers’ lives easier, enabling them to focus on delivering great client outcomes and being able to evidence a holistic approach. This is an important step in bridging the gap between specialists and mainstream advisers and we look forward to working with Air, their members and the lifetime mortgage providers featured on their platform alongside our lender and distribution partners to support the safe growth of the market.”
