Access Financial Services has announced the appointment of Reena Vadhia as its new group financial controller.

The mortgage and protection brokerage says she started last month and is based in its Milton Keynes headquarters.

Vadhia will oversee the firm’s financial strategy, management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory reporting, and internal controls, supporting the company’s continued growth and strategic initiatives.

She started her career with UCB Homeloans as a mortgage consultant and a risk and quality control manager before moving to parent, Nationwide – initially as a branch manager, before moving into the regional office working in financial planning and mortgages.

In 2021, she joined ORSA Projects, a compliance consultancy specialising in health, safety, fire, and environmental matters for the construction industry as a financial controller, then as finance director.

Before joining Access FS, she worked as group finance controller of Greenbrook Investments, a group of companies specialising in property development and hospitality.

Reena Vadhia, group financial controller at Access FS, said: “I am looking forward to leading the finance function at Access FS.  Given this business is financially strong, my focus will be on supporting strategic planning and fuelling continued growth – the mortgage division grew by around 40 per cent last year.  I will also work closely with Karl and the senior team to advise on the financial implications of key business decisions.”

Karl Wilkinson, the CEO and founder of Access FS, said: “Reena’s background in mortgages at UCB Homeloans and Nationwide, along with her qualifications and experience mean she is well-equipped to handle the operational and strategic finance requirements of a dynamic mortgage and protection brokerage like Access FS.  Her appointment is going to strengthen our back-office infrastructure and facilitate our ambitious scaling as we look to keep growing the business and bring more experienced senior brokers on board.  We are lucky to have her on the team.”
